I've had access to Widdoes Vineyard for 24 years and it is owned by Don Widdoes and farmed by Dutton Ranch who planted Martini clones in 1990. The soil is Goldridge fine sandy loam. Located just West of the little town of Graton, it is a magical location for pinot noir. The fog rolls in first and burns off late in this Green Valley sub-appellation.

In the glass, a medium dark ruby color with a purple hue. Deep dark fruit aromas of pomegranate, plum and dark cherry are mixed with rose petal. A surprising minerality on the palace with classic raspberry, licorice, and what’s that…new leather? Mid palate is full and finish is long, silky with subtle vanilla oak. Clean, true Russian River.
