After a drought related hiatus, 2016 Wilson Vineyard shows dark garnet with a purple hue. In both color and aroma,Wilson has a mature character of prune, fig, date and raspberry. A mélange of ripe strawberry and raspberry, vanilla, hint of smoke and on the mid-palate perhaps boysenberry and cranberry. If you didn’t know better, you would think it might be French! The finish is elegant and smooth. The wine has great balance.

Antonio Galloni 94pts
The 2016 Pinot Noir Wilson Vineyard is a striking, multi-dimensional wine. Dark red and purplish fruit, savory herbs, licorice, and lavender all flesh out beautifully in the glass. This cool, late-ripening site tends to produce savory Pinots. There is plenty of aromatic finesse in the 2016, but also quite a bit of textural richness and depth to play off those elements. Powerful, explosive and full of character, the Wilson is another superb wine from Sean Capiaux. Drinking window 2020-2028. Reviewed Apr 2018
