2015 Capiaux Garys’ Vineyard Pinot Noir
Santa Lucia Highlands
Garys' Vineyard is a highly acclaimed and storied site owned by two Garys. It was planted in the mid '90's to Pisoni clones in Santa Lucia Highlands sandy loam soil. With my first vintage of Garys' in 1999, I could sense its old-world beginnings and knew this vineyard could rival some of the great Burgundy "grand cru" sites.
Subtle aromas swirl from the glass in a mix of lavender, rose petals, herbs de Provence. Raspberry, pomegranate, wild plum and red tea with vanilla bean and white pepper on the back end. Mouthwatering acidity leads this wine smoothly from conversation to the dinner table.

"The 2015 Pinot Garys' is one of the more flamboyant wines in this lineup. Lush, rich and inviting, the 2015 possesses striking textural depth, creaminess and nuance. Sweet red cherry, kirsch, white pepper and mint add aromatic to this decidedly rich, fruit-driven Pinot."

"...loaded with notes of spice box, forest floor, black raspberry and black cherry mixed with cola and loamy soil undertones. It is medium to full-bodied but delicious, and again shows the high quality inot Noir that can be made from selected sites in the Santa Lucia Highlands. Drink it over the next 5-6 years."
