2016 Capiaux Garys’ Vineyard Pinot Noir Image

Antonio Galloni 92pts
The 2016 Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard is one of the more open, giving wines in this range. Super ripe red cherry and plum fruit are pushed forward. Sweet floral and citrus overtones develop in the glass, adding attractive aromatic top notes, but this is a decidedly overt, racy style that can be enjoyed with minimal cellaring. Drinking window 2018-2024. Reviewed Apr 2018

2016 Capiaux Widdoes Vineyard Pinot Noir Image

Antonio Galloni 93+ pts
The 2016 Pinot Noir Widdoes Vineyard is a bold, pungent wine, with huge tannins that are going to need quite a bit of time to soften. Succulent black cherry, plum, lavender, game, mint and violet gradually reveal themselves, but only with great reluctance. In 2016, Sean Capiaux used about 10% stems, but the whole clusters are not especially evident. This imposing, brooding Pinot is in no mood to show all of its cards today. I don't remember the Widdoes ever being so intense. Drinking window 2020-2031. Reviewed Apr 2018

2016 Capiaux Chimera Pinot Noir Image

Antonio Galloni 90pts
The 2016 Pinot Noir Chimera is laced with essence of sweet red cherry, underbrush, dried herbs, orange zest and exotic floral notes. Plump and juicy, yet also very much medium in body and gracious, with terrific freshness, the 2016 has much to offer. I would prefer to drink it over the next 7-10 years. A rush of dark red cherry, plum, mocha and licorice infuse the supple, inviting finish. Best of all, the Chimera is a terrific value. Reviewed Apr 2018
