91 Points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
"(Sean Capiaux leases and organically farms this vineyard in Annapolis, near Peay; aged in four one-year-old barrels): Good bright red-ruby. Slightly high-toned, inviting aromas of dark cherry, strawberry, minerals and clove oil. Juicy, tight and precise, with impressive energy to the dark fruit flavors complicated by a hint of candied apple. Sound acids and firm tannins give this a serious structure. The persistent finish shows a note of vanilla. This was scheduled to be bottled the week after my June visit; the other Capiaux '09s were bottled last August."
